Hello and Welcome! I am Dr Jessica Kong, a trainee hypnotherapist, a PhD in communications with a focus on sound, music and psychological components. As a university teacher who has over a decade of experience of teaching and supporting university students, as well as being an ex-UG, MSc and PhD student, I deeply know and understand the need and challenges, as well as the motivation and dreams of students, researchers, academics and professionals in Higher Education settings.
As a university teacher, I guide students how to write, research, think critically and deliver on a daily basis. However, I noticed almost all academic problems come with an emotional shade underneath. Stress-overloading, peer pressure, self-sabotaging, fear of not being good enough...etc., to name a few, are contributing to creating an underrated pandemic in my opinion. Students and researchers who started their journey with aspiring mission who care about social change, often feel defeated by such highly competitive academic culture.
I often say, studying and researching should be healthy, enjoyable, and sustainable. Then, how can hypnotherapy help achieving this? I know and believe that as human beings, we all have our own calling, passion and purpose. From an educator as well as a hypnotherapist's point of view, it is important to acknowledge that we do have the ability to access that vast intellectual resource from within ourselves; and it is how hypnotherapy could play an effective role in.
Through a solution focused brief & hypnotherapy direction, together with my expertise in music, communications & psychology, my mission is to help clients reduce stress meanwhile proactively strengthen relaxation muscle, in order to build confidence, sustain motivation and thrive consistently. My approach is modern, nourishing, and sustainable, which acts as healthy and foundational soil to enhance academic and everyday life wellness.
